Reproducing

This species has a short mating period that goes from December/January to March, once the female is pregnant the gestation period is 66-75 days. Once the kittens are born they stay hidden in their den until they are about 2 months old "when 'molting' takes place and they grow an adult coat," (Pallas's Cat - Facts, Diet, Habitat & Pictures on Animalia.bio).

From three months, kittens join their mother in the world and explore while learning to hunt in their group. At 4-5 months kittens are of adult size and weight so they can venture on their own as they are physically, mentally, and sexually mature.

Unfortunately mother cats can infect their offspring with a fatal sickness during pregnancy. "Female Pallas cats can transmit T. gondii to their offspring when chronically infected, which often leads to fatal toxoplasmosis in kittens," (Marieke Opsteegh, ... Arie Havelaar, in Foodborne Infections and Intoxications (Fourth Edition), 2013).
